Swamp Fox News · CFA Spotlight Player of the Week – Jacob Dupske

Introducing you to Jacob who is a senior on the Men’s Varsity Soccer team.  He wears #4 and plays defender and left back.  Jacob states, “The best thing about competing at ARHS is the group of athletes I get to compete with.  I feel very lucky to be playing with some of the best players in the area.”  His greatest sports moment was scoring the winning goal on a penalty kick that led to the teams first win ever against Wando.  The whole team had their picture taken under the scoreboard when the game was over showing the 1-0 victory.  If he could change 1 rule about the game of soccer it would be to wear any color shin guard straps with his uniform.  Jacob’s pregame ritual is listening to music to get himself focused and pumped up before a game.  A few of Jacob’s favorites include the CFA Spicy Chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese and a chocolate shake, the movie “Toy Story 4”, the TV show “Friends”, buffalo chicken wings, the musical artist Jimmy Buffet and the Professional Soccer Player Cristiano Ronaldo.  His favorite quote is “I have not failed.  I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” (Thomas Edison).  Jacob is also involved in the Senior Club at ARHS and plans to attend college in Florida next fall and major in Graphic Design.  His dream job is to be a graphic designer for the Walt Disney Company.  Three things on Jacob’s bucket list are to go on a Disney Cruise, visit the Bahamas, and learn how to surf.  Coach Harris states, “Jacob has been on Varsity for 3 years.  He is quiet, but determined to do his best on every play.  He leads by example and was a fantastic player during his time at Ashley Ridge.”  Jacob, we are sorry we didn’t get to see more penalty kicks from you this Spring.  We wish you the best at wherever you decide on for college, and please be sure to remember your roots at Ashley Ridge when you make it big at Disney!  We look forward to seeing your name on the big screen one day!
