Swamp Fox News · CFA Spotlight Player of the Week – Nick Vaughn

Introducing you to ARHS Junior Nick Vaughn who proudly wears #18 for the Swamp Fox Baseball Team.  Nick plays Pitcher and 1st baseman and loves representing Ashley Ridge.  His favorite sports moment was playing against Cuba at the ESPN Wide World of  Sports.  If Nick could change one rule about baseball it would be to have a DH in the AL, and no DH in the NL.  No particular pre-game ritual for this player but his favorite quote is “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present.” (Master Oogway).  A few of his favorite things include the CFA sandwich with nuggets and a chocolate shake, the movie “Benchwarmers”, the TV show “Yo Gabba Gabba”, Japanese food and the musical artist Lil Uzi Vert.  His favorite professional sports athlete is Ronald Acuna Jr.  When not on the field or in school Nick enjoys video games, watching you tube, or vacationing in the Outer Banks of NC.  Nick hopes to one day be a sports analyst or journalist and his dream job is to work for the MLB Network.  His bucket list includes going on a cruise, collecting 1 hat from every MLB team, and to jump out of a plane.  Coach Givens states, “Nick is an amazing young man and epitomizes what AR Baseball is all about.  He is a tremendously hard worker in the weight room and on the field.  He is committed to being the best player and team mate he can be.”  We hope you have a wonderful summer Nick, and come back to ARHS ready to play ball!
