You can’t help but notice the presence of this week’s Spotlight Player of the Week on the Football Field. Hampton Smith is a Senior who plays Center for the Ashley Ridge Swamp Fox Varsity Football Team. He proudly wears #67. Hampton loves the feeling of a brotherhood within the team, and says everyone is going to be by your side no matter what. His favorite sports moment was getting his first start his sophomore year after an injury. If he could change 1 rule about football it would be to allow lineman to catch the ball more often. Hampton’s pre-game ritual is to say a prayer to keep everyone safe on the field. His favorite meal from CFA is the spicy chicken sandwich with a side of mac & cheese. A few other of his favorite things include the movie “American Sniper”, the TV Show “Two and a 1/2 Men”, venison, the musical group ACDC and the professional athlete Quinten Nelson. Hampton likes to hunt, enjoys snapchatting, and enjoys vacationing in Myrtle Beach. He is involved in the Leadership and Teacher Cadet programs at ARHS. He hopes to play College Football and his dream job is to become a High School Football Coach. His bucket list includes killing a state record buck, limit out in Arkansas, and to win a State Championship. Coach Fidler states, “Hampton is the type of worker you want all your players to be. He shows up every day and gives 100% towards what is asked. Hampton believes in team first, and has all the qualities to become successful in whatever field he chooses.” Good luck Hampton, study hard, keep praying, and follow your dreams. Game On and Go Foxes #HUNT!
