The ARHS Girls’ Golf Team fell to Fort Dorchester by 3 strokes, and to Summerville by 2 strokes in the Region 8-5A Tournament on Monday at Wescott Golf Club. In the tightest finish in recent memory, all three teams were in contention for the title throughout the day. After 18 holes, only three strokes separated the first and third place teams. The Lady Swamp Foxes carded 399, Summerville posted a 397, and Fort Dorchester ended with a 396.

Ashley Ridge placed two players on the 8-5A All Region Team. Avery Smith, an 8th grader from Alston Middle School, and Sofia Villarose, a 7th grader from Gregg Middle School were named All-Region players. Congratulations to them!

AR will advance to the Lower State Varsity Girls’ Golf Tournament , held this year on October 19 at Shaftesbury Golf Club in Conway.
